Larry Lansburgh is a documentary film producer, director, and writer whose talents have brought him an Academy Award-nomination and an Emmy. One of his recent documentaries, Dream People of the Amazon, has appeared in film festivals in the United States, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East.
Dream People of the Amazon is the inspiring story of a small group of Amazonian indigenous people who for almost twenty years have brilliantly defended their pristine rain forest home from destruction by the oil companies. “This was an especially satisfying film to make,” says Larry. “It’s an indigenous success story, one that provides a realistic sense of hope for the future of the planet.”
Formerly a partner and the chief copywriter of an advertising agency, Larry gets deep satisfaction from working closely with clients and graphic designers to create powerful and persuasive messages. Larry has also taught writing at the University of California Santa Cruz Extension.
“Mainstream media bring us far too many negative messages, ones that diminish life,” says Larry. “My passion is to work with people to craft inspiring messages — ones that enhance our lives.”
